Alkyl Xanthate and Dialkyl Dithiophosphate
Brief Introduction of Xanthate & Dithiophosphate
Sodium Butyl Xanthate (Xanthate)
Also named sodium O-butyldithiocarbonate, UN 3342 Class 4.2 self-heating solid.
It is the most widely used powerful collector for sulfide ore flotation, applied for rough flotation of copper, lead, zinc and associated native gold. It has strong collecting capacity but moderate selectivity, and decomposes quickly in acidic slurry. It is packed in 25kg woven bags for overseas mine export.
No.25 Dithiophosphate (Black Dithiophosphate)
Dark brown oily liquid with mild frothing property. It features excellent flotation selectivity, weak collecting ability for pyrite, widely used in separation flotation of lead-zinc ore and precious metal concentration to improve concentrate grade. It keeps stable under weak acid pulp condition, generally filled in 200L iron drums for shipment.
Most mines use xanthate as main collector mixed with dithiophosphate to balance recovery rate and ore separation efficiency.
