Brief Introduction of No.2 Terpenic Oil (Frother)

No.2 Terpenic Oil, also called No.2 Flotation Oil, is a widely used flotation frother synthesized from turpentine, with α-terpineol as its main active ingredient.
It is pale yellow oily liquid, classified as Class 3.3 high flash point flammable liquid.

In mineral processing, it generates uniform and stable froth to lift sulfide mineral particles coated by xanthate collectors, realizing separation between valuable ore and gangue. It also has mild collecting performance for molybdenite, graphite and coal.
It is commonly matched with copper sulfate activator and xanthate collectors for copper, lead, zinc and associated gold-silver ore flotation, and is packed in 190kg iron drums for bulk export to overseas mines.
