ACTIVATED CARBON
Brief Introduction of Coconut Shell Activated Carbon for Gold Recovery
Gold-grade coconut shell granular activated carbon is produced from natural coconut shell via carbonization and high-temperature steam activation. It is the core adsorbent material for CIP, CIL and heap leaching cyanide gold extraction process.
With iodine value 1000~1200 mg/g and high mechanical hardness, it selectively adsorbs gold cyanide complex ions \ce{[Au(CN)2]^-} from leaching slurry to form gold-loaded carbon. After desorption, electrolysis and smelting, pure gold ingots can be obtained. Spent carbon can be thermally regenerated for repeated use.
It features low abrasion loss, high gold recovery rate, stable performance, which is widely supplied to gold mines in Africa, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
